What age is best to start music lessons?
Children can begin music lessons from as young as 4 years old, and we welcome students of all ages (4+). Our youngest learners start with fun rhythm-based activities, while teens and adults follow specially paced programs. It’s never too early—or too late—to discover the joy of music.
Do I need to own an instrument to begin lessons?
No, owning an instrument is not required to start. Dee Studio provides instruments for inclass learning. Our teachers will guide you on when and which instrument to purchase once
you feel confident about continuing your musical journey.
How much practice is required between lessons?
For beginners, we recommend 15–30 minutes of daily practice, with practice time increasing
as skills develop. We emphasize quality practice over quantity and teach effective techniques
to ensure every practice session is productive.
Can I learn multiple instruments at the same time?
We suggest starting with one instrument to build strong fundamentals. After 6–12 months,
many students successfully add a second instrument. Our instructors will advise based on your
progress, interest, and goals.
Are music exams mandatory?
Music exams are optional but highly encouraged. They help set clear goals and provide
international certification. We prepare students for Trinity College London exams, while also
offering flexible, non-exam programs for hobby learners.
